Ten Economic Advisors Appointed by Urbandale Council
The Urbandale business leaders and residents will share their perspectives on economic development.

The Urbandale City Council unanimously approved Mayor Bob Andeweg’s appointments Tuesday to the newly-formed Economic Development Advisory Board.
The board – approved by the City Council in July – will provide perspectives and insights to shape the City of Urbandale’s economic development strategies.

“Increasing investment and career opportunities in the community are top priorities for the city,” said Andeweg. “The accomplished professionals that we appointed tonight will bring tremendous value to our efforts.”
The membership of the Economic Development Advisory Board is built around ten key perspectives. Appointees are residents of Urbandale and/or work in Urbandale. These 10 people represent Urbandale’s business sectors and will serve through June 30, 2014:

- Financial Services/Insurance: Brian Mook, Continental Western Group
- Manufacturing/Bioscience: Curt Leaverton, Pivot Works
- Logistics: Lisa Hubbard, YRC Freight
- Information Technology/Business Services: Wallas Wiggins, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group
- Education/Workforce Development: Sheila Robinson, Des Moines Public Schools
- Real Estate Development: Dave Hansen, Signature Real Estate Services
- Real Estate Brokerage: Adam Kaduce, R & R Realty Marketing Group
- Young Professional: Emily Naylor, Shive Hattery
