Undefeated Urbandale J-Hawks Stunned by Valley Tigers

The J-Hawks trailed by 18 points and rallied to score 15 points and put the win within reach.

The No. 6-ranked Urbandale J-Hawks fell to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in Division 1 play on Friday night with a 28-25 loss to neighboring West Des Moines Valley.

The J-Hawks trailed 28-10 with just under 6 minutes left, but rallied to score 15 points in a 90-second span and then had a final chance with the football under one minute, according to J-Hawks.com.

Valley’s Clint Boffeli played safety for the first time in Friday's game, the Des Moines Register said, to try to contain Urbandale’s 6-5 Allen Lazard, who has towered over opponents all season.

Boffeli intercepted a pass in the final minute to lift the Tigers to an upset 28-25 win at Valley Stadium.
