We hope you and your family are enjoying a great summer break. While we’re excited to begin the 2021–2022 school year in Urbandale, we understand we’re all at different stages of healing given the challenges of the past 18+ months. This understanding is at the heart of our focus as we continue #caring4U throughout the year.

First Day of School: 2021-2022 School Year

• First day of school for Rolling Green: Thursday, July 22, 2021.
• First day of school for all other schools: Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Virtual Education Option 2021-22: Sign Up By August 15, 2021

UCSD is excited to welcome students and staff for the 2021-22 school year. We are ready to re-connect with students and will be providing high-quality, in-person instruction. While students age 12 and over can now receive a COVID-19 vaccine, we understand that students age 11 and under are not yet eligible. We know some families may have concerns about in person learning until a vaccine is available for these students.

As a result, UCSD will be offering a state-approved, third party online education program for families who have unvaccinated individuals in their household and are concerned about in-person learning. Edgenuity will be the provider of this online instruction. There are no additional fees for your student to select learning online and students will be issued a UCSD Chromebook for their use. Help with wireless internet may also be available for those who qualify. Learn more here.
