Urbandale Receives Voice of the People Award of Excellence
The city was recognized for excellence in services of trash collection, recycling collection and code enforcement.
The city of Urbandale was presented with the Voice of the People Award for Excellence during Tuesday's City Council meeting.
The city was recognized for excellence for services of trash collection, recycling collection and code enforcement.
Urbnadale Mayor Bob Andeweg said the recognition was well deserved.

"It's a wonderful award to measure our city against others," he said during the meeting. "We're very appreciative of the award."
To qualify for the award, Urbandale had to be in the top 10 percent among over 500 jurisdictions in the National Research Center's database for citizen surveys.

The Award is based on the Citizen Survey results gathered from the City's 2011 survey and awarded by the International City/County Managers Association.
This isn't the first time the city has been recognized for excellence in services.
The city also received the award in 2010 for its 2009 citizen survey results.
