Urbandale Resident Opens Law Firm in Town

Matthew Gardner has opened a law practice in Urbandale, the Des Moines Register reports.

According to the firm's website, Gardner Law Firm P.C. is located at 2900 100th St., Suite 207.

Gardner, who lives in Urbandale, wrote in his online profile that "for over 15 years, I worked at a local, mid-sized law firm in developing my practice and working with different mentors. Eventually I decided that I wanted to run a firm 'my way' which led me to the decision to start my own law firm in 2013. My goal is to advise and bring solutions to individuals and families regarding estate planning, wealth preservation and business planning."

Gardner says he was born in Centerville, graduated from Iowa State University in 1992 and from Drake University Law School in 1997 with honors. He worked for 15 years at Sullivan & Ward law firm in West Des Moines before starting his own business.

He is a member of Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, a graduate of the Leadership Urbandale class of 2009/2010, and a youth soccer coach, among other civic activities.

Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment, the newspaper said.
