Urbandale Student, Future Medical Scientist, ‘Google Doodle’ Iowa Finalist

Vote online for Marissa Frost's doodle showing what would be her best day ever – finding cures for diseases that cut lives short.

Today’s a big day for Marissa Frost, an Urbandale Middle School eighth grader who is the Iowa finalist in the “Doodle 4 Google” contest to redesign the giant tech company’s homepage for millions to see.

But it may pale in comparison with what she hopes will be a bigger day – when she unlocks the key to curing diseases in her planned career as a medical scientist.

“Helping to make others healthier would make my day the best ever,” she wrote with her submission in the contest, which spells out “google” with a microscope, magnifying glass, atoms, a beaker and a laboratory rat.
