Weird Iowa: Dad Invades Soccer Game; Dad Calls Cops on Son; King Explains Comparing Immigrants to Dogs

Parents always embarrass their teenagers, that's a fact of life.

But an Iowa City man made news after to stop his son from playing. Benjamin Doyle, 51, of Iowa City, was charged with trespassing for his attempt to focus his son's energy on academics.

In another battle between father and son, Zachary James Gerdes, a 20-year-old Marion man was kicked out of his house, and then  Gerdes' father called police, who picked him up on a warrant and charged him with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

An odd bit of crime news resurfaced in Cedar Falls this week. James "D.A." Henderson-El of Waterloo was convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Robert James Streeter of Cedar Falls in 1975. The case is being appealed and that her husband said the gun went off accidentally when he tried to grab it.

Urbandale police last weekend arrested a 65-year-old woman who they say was . Police said Judy Fife was upset that the motel manager didn't have a magazine that came in the mail for her. Fife was charged with assault with display of a weapon.
