Woman Charged With Making Up Story About Break-in, Assault

Urbandale police said Thursday that a woman who reported she was knocked unconscious during a break-in made up the story. She now faces charges.

An Urbandale woman faces a serious misdemeanor charge after police say she made up a story of being knocked unconscious by someone trying to break into her house.

According to Urbandale Police Department Spokesman Randy Peterson, Kitty Pappas called police to the 7300 block of Palm Drive Sept. 23 about a home break-in.

Officers met with Pappas, who told them an unknown person knocked on her door and when she opened the door she was knocked unconscious.
