18 Units Of Blood Collected Through City Of Waukee Blood Drive

There were 18 eligible donors who participated and donated 18 units of blood.

On Aug. 4, 2020, the City of Waukee hosted a blood drive in partnership with LifeServe Blood Center. Donors consisted mostly of City staff and elected officials, but community members also made an impact.

There were 18 eligible donors who participated and donated 18 units of blood. This included eight first-time blood donors. Throughout the day, enough blood was collected to save or sustain 54 lives!

During the pandemic, LifeServe reports that scheduling blood drives in Central Iowa has proved to be a challenge as so many people are working from home, etc. To learn more about scheduling a blood drive or individual donation, visit the organization’s website.
