2015 Waukee Track & Field Camp (Grades K-5)

The 4th Annual Waukee Future Champions Track & Field and Cross Country Camp has been scheduled for June 9-12, 2015. The camp is open to boys and girls entering grades K-5. The camp has been recognized as one of the premier youth running camps in Iowa with participation increasing from 46 registrants in 2012 to over 200 registrants in 2014.

Campers participate in team building activities, learn track & field and cross country fundamentals, and compete in track & field events. Campers are instructed through a rotating schedule by grade with one day focused on sprints/hurdles, one day focused on middle/long distance, and one day focused on field events. Campers are provided the opportunity to participate in an informal track meet on the final day of camp.

The camp is staffed by Waukee Track & Field and Cross Country coaches together with current and former athletes. The camp is held at Waukee Stadium with campers utilizing Waukee’s premier track & field and cross country facilities. Coaches focus on building enthusiasm for track & field and cross country while introducing fundamentals. Coaches strive to ensure athletes experience success and encourage athletes to celebrate effort over result.
