UPDATE: Airborne Vehicle Strikes Culvert, Injures Driver: Waukee Police Reports

April 24
A vehicle driven by Madlene Pierce of 405 N.E. Plum Ave., Earlham, was eastbound on Hickman Road when Pierce stopped at a stoplight at the intersection with Ashworth Drive. Police said a vehicle driven by Shavonne Gulley of 101 Second Ave., Des Moines, rear-ended Pierce's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $2,500. Gulley was cited for failure to stop in an assured, clear distance.

Jill Kakacek of Waukee reported the theft of a credit card with an unknown value.
A vehicle driven by Randolph Raber, 328 N.E. Kingwood Drive, Waukee was northbound on North Warrior Lane. After passing Northeast Fox Run Trail Raber's vehicle went into the ditch, became airborne, and then struck a culvert. Police said Raber was injured. Vehicle damage was estimated at $10,000. Charges are pending in the case, police said Tuesday, and it is still under investigation.
