Blanchard Announces Re-Election Run for Waukee City Council
City Councilman Shane Blanchard has announced that he plans to seek a second term in November's election.

Waukee City Councilman Shane Blanchard has announced that he will be running for re-election in November, according to a news release.
Blanchard was appointed to the Waukee Parks and Recreation Board in January of 2008 and is seeking his second term to the Waukee City Council, having been elected in 2009. In this capacity, he has served as liason to the Library Board, Board of Appeals, Board of Adjustments, Mayor Pro Tem in 2012, Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Copleand Recreation Project.
He works as an associate manager at Farm Bureau Financial Services, the news release said.

In his re-election bid, Blanchard has hired Sarah Bowman of Waukee as his campaign manager.
Bowman has served as communication director for Sen. Chuck Grassley’s campaign, as co-chair of the Polk County Republicans and in the last election, worked as communications director for Coalition of Americans for Political Equality Political Action Committee.

“I am excited to continue my service to the citizens of Waukee,” Blanchard said in the news release. “I pride myself in my work in the community and I enjoy working with the residents any time an issue may arise. People know I’ll come to your home, or your neighborhood, to meet up about an issue. I look forward to a clean campaign and hope the citizens of Waukee have appreciated the work I’ve done and will instill their trust in me for another term.”
