American Cancer Society Coaches VS Cancer

Thursday, January 17, the Waukee High School wrestling team held a Coaches VS Cancer event during their match with Southeast Polk High School.

Between the JV and Varsity meet, the clock was set for 48 seconds. Ten cheerleaders with buckets rushed through the stands collecting change from the spectators.

The 48 seconds represents the 48 Iowans who are diagnosed with cancer every hour. During those 48 seconds Thursday night, the Waukee cheerleaders collected $266.81!
