Creating a Home Inventory – What Have You Got to Lose?

 Take stock of your belongings. A home inventory is a helpful tool if your home is damaged or destroyed by a fire or storm, or is burglarized.

Go through your belongings room by room, listing each item, quantity, date purchased and original cost. Note serial numbers of electronics and other items. Update your inventory when you make large purchases, and pick a date to review annually.
