World Cancer Day (Blog)

February 4th is World Cancer Day

February 4, is World Cancer Day. If you know someone currently battling cancer, visit them Monday.

Can't visit? Then call. Tell them you're thinking of them.

If you know someone that is caring for someone with cancer, take them to lunch Monday. Let them talk. Just listen. Sometimes people forget the toll cancer takes on the caregiver.

If you know someone that lost someone to cancer, let them know you're thinking of them. Take them to lunch, or just visit them for a while. Celebrate the memory of their loved one with them.

Another thing you can do is make a donation to the American Cancer Society in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Help the ACS find a cure for cancer or help out a family in your area.

The ACS can supply a driver to take them to their doctor or treatment appointments.  Or they can give a wig to a woman who's insurance won't cover the cost.

And if that still doesn't sway you, then remember it's a tax deduction for next year! Visit www.cancer.org or www.relayforlife.org/southerndallascountyia  for more information.
