Car Accident in the Waukee High School Parking Lot: Waukee Police Blotter

Feb. 25

Henry Varanowki of 210 Aidan St., Waukee, reported the theft of a cell phone in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue.

A vehicle driven by Austin Orvis of 15501 Wildwood Drive, Clive, was southbound in the west lane of the Waukee High School parking lot drive when a vehicle driven by Michawn Allen of 722 Eighth St., Altoona, tried to turn left into the parking lot and reportedly struck Orvis' vehicle. Damage was estimated at $3,000.

A vehicle driven by Brett Shaw of 256 S. 62nd St., West Des Moines, was pulling into a parking space in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue when a vehicle driven by Ann Luong of 15058 Woodcrest Drive, Clive, backed out of a parking space and reportedly struck Shaw's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

A vehicle driven by Taylor Gehring of 4003 158th St., Urbandale, was stopped at a stop sign facing southbound at the intersection of Ashworth Drive and Southeast University Avenue, preparing to turn left on a green light. An unknown vehicle slid into Gehring's vehicle because of slick road conditions, and immediately left the scene of the accident. Vehicle damage was estimated at $800.
