Car Accidents on Ice, Plus Drug Arrest: Waukee Police Blotter

Ice caused multiple car accidents last week, and an arrest was made for possession of drug paraphernalia. Check out today's Waukee Police reports.

Feb. 2

A vehicle driven by Debra McKinney of Des Moines was westbound in the 800 block of Hickman Road and turned right into a business drive when it hit a patch of ice. McKinney's vehicle struck a northbound vehicle driven by Michelle Basart of Waukee, who was stopped at a stop sign. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,500.

A vehicle driven by Caleb Cork of Waukee was northbound on Alice's Road when it stopped to turn left onto Southeast Olson Drive. A vehicle driven by Adam Rose of Urbandale hit an icy patch while slowing down and rear-ended Cork's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $6,500.

Clinton Casteel, 34, of Urbandale, was arrested at the intersection of Hickman Road and Southeast Waco Place. He was charged with driving while his license is suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.
