Car, Construction Thefts Reported: Waukee Police Blotter
Police investigated a stolen car and a mistaken burglary in the past week. Check out today's Waukee Police reports.

Dec. 10
Tim Russell of Waukee reported the theft of a 2002 Volkswagon Passat from the 1000 block of Southeast Mapleleaf Lane. The vehicle, valued at $6,000, was found a block away. There was no damage reported, and no information in the police report about whether the keys were left in the car. No charges have been filed.

A Waukee woman reported a burglary to a residence in the 600 block of Southeast Brentwood Drive. It turns out there was no burglary, the neighbor had mistakenly thought something was taken from the garage.
An employee of Commonwealth Electric Co. of Des Moines reported a burglary and vandalism at a construction site inthe 4100 block of Ute Avenue. A construction trailer was broken into; thieves took a light track head and lock hasp valued at $975.
