Clear Out: Waukee's Spring Cleanup is Saturday

This weekend is your chance to get rid of clutter around the house; it must be out on the curb by 7 a.m. Saturday.

Waukee's Spring Clean-Up will be held on Saturday, May 11, according to the city website. Residents are encouraged to place all their junk by the curb by 7 a.m.

Items longer than 6 ffeet will not be accepted.

The household hazardous collection will take place at the Waukee North Middle School parking lot located at 905 Warrior Lane.

Accepted items are: aerosol cleaners, caulk, metal polishes, pesticides, roofing tar, stain & varnish, weed killer, wallpaper remover, contact cement & resin, drain & oven cleaners, gasoline & kerosene, oil-based & lead-based paints, paint remover & thinner, rat-mouse-gopher poison, rechargable batteries, & windshield washer fluid.

Non-accepted items: ammunition, asbestos, explosives, fire extinguisher, used oil filters, latex paint, motor oil, lead acid batteries, needles, radioactive material, & compressed gas cylinders.
