Deer Causes One Car Crash, Driver Ticketed in Another: Waukee Police Reports

May 20

A vehicle driven by William Tornberg of 15109 Wilden Drive, Urbandale, was eastbound on Hickman Road when a deer ran out and was struck by Tornberg’s vehicle. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

May 21

Troy Alexander, 44, of 2005 S.E. Olson Drive, Waukee was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear.

A vehicle driven by Phyllis Detlefsen of 20264 280th St., Adel, was westbound in the 100 block of Southeat Laurel Street and stopped for traffic before turning right. Police said a vehicle driven by Johneene Sexton of 13161 Orchard St., Adel, was westbound in the 100 block of Southeast Laurel and rear-ended Detlefesn’s vehicle. Damage was estimated at $7,000. Sexton was cited for failure to stop in an assured, clear distance.

Michael Sites, 24, of 2420 S.E. Sixth St., Des Moines, was arrested on a Waukee warrant for violation of a no-contact order.

Jared Carpenter, 21, of 550 Eighth St., Waukee was arrested in the 800 block of Walnut Street for OWI.
