Driver Reportedly Fell Asleep, Causing Crash: Waukee Police Reports

Also, a burglary was reported from a vehicle on University Avenue. Check out today's Waukee police reports.

May 29
A vehicle driven by Ashley Conser of 3005 Woodland Ave., Des Moines, was westbound in the 14200 block of Southeast University Avenue when a vehicle driven by Jacquelin Procknow of 3812 Lincoln Place, Des Moines attempted to turn left from a parking area on University. Police said Procknow's vehicle struck Conser's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $7,000. Procknow was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.

A vehicle driven by Mark Hanson of 595 S.E. Northbranch Drive, Waukee, was southbound on Southeast Boone Drive. When turning left onto Southeast Westwoods Drive, a vehicle driven by Danielle Applegate of 1256 Quail Ridge Ave., Van Meter, rear-ended Hanson's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,200.

May 30
A vehicle driven by Scott Robinette of 3000 University Ave., West Des Moines, was westbound in the 1200 block of Southeast University Avenue. Police said Robinette fell asleep and his vehicle struck a light pole on the north side of the road. Vehicle damage was estimated at $3,000; there was $2,000 damage to the pole. Robinette was cited for failure to maintain control and no proof of insurance.

May 31
A resident reported a burglary to a vehicle in the 1200 block of University Avenue. The value of items taken was valued at $435.
