March 22
A vehicle driven by Donna Norman of 180 N. School St., Waukee, was westbound in the 500 block of Ashworth Drive when a vehicle driven by Charles Thomas of 2817 Claiborne Circle, Urbandale, backed out of a parking space. Police said Thomas' vehicle struck Norman's vehicle. Thomas was cited for unsafe backing on a highway. Damage was estimated at $2,500.

An employee of Kum & Go, 350 S.E. University Ave., Waukee, reported a theft of merchandise valued at $20.24.
