Driverless Car Crashes Into Garage Door: Waukee Police Reports

Julia Ofenbakh of 1895 S.E. Langdale Lane, Waukee, backed her vehicle out of a garage and started out the driveway. Police said Ofenbakh forgot something in the house, pulled back up to the garage door and got out of the vehicle -- but forgot to put it in park. The vehicle struck the garage door and sustained $3,500 damage. Damage to the door was estimated at $500.

Two legally parked vehicles in the 14200 block of Southeast University Avenue were struck by an unknown vehicle because of ice on the parking lot. The vehicle then left the scene. Damage was estimated at $1,800.

Christopher Ham, 26, of Earlham, was arrested at the intersection of Warrior Lane and Park Street and charged with driving while his license is revoked and cited for speeding.
