Drivers Backing Out of Parking Spaces Rear-End Each Other: Waukee Police Blotter

Feb. 21

A vehicle driven by Morgan Wierschke of 1670 S.E. Greentree Drive, Waukee, was backing out of a parking space in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue when a vehicle driven by Nathanial Vento of 915 Highland Drive, Waukee, was also backing out of a parking space. Police said the two vehicle rear-ended each other. Damage was estimated at $600.

Cheryl Phillips of Waukee reported the theft of a mailbox in the 200 block of Windfield Parkway. There were no items inside the mailbox.

Sheral Coppick, 54, of 211 Ashworth Drive, Waukee, was arrested in the first block of Fourth Street and charged with public intoxication.

Feb. 23

A vehicle driven by Bryan Bierma of 31385 Champagne Road, Waukee, was northbound in the 1400 block of L.A. Grant Parkway, slowing to make a left turn onto Southeast Booth Avenue. Police said a vehicle driven by Mark Jobst of 937 S.E. Waterview Circle, Waukee, reportedly struck the rear of Bierma's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $5,000. Jobst was cited for failure to maintain control.
