Early Morning Brawl at Waukee Rest Stop Ends in Arrest

A 3:25 a.m. fight between two men at the rest stop near Waukee along Interstate 80 ended in arrests, according to the Waukee Police Department.

Authorities were called Monday morning with a report that two men were fighting at the rest area and one had allegedly broken a car window.

The car's owner called police, according to a report, and officers from Waukee and the Iowa State Patrol responded.

Michael Robinson, 23, of Carlisle was arrested by Waukee police and charged with assaulting a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, interference with official acts and public intoxication. 

Waukee Officer Jeremy Long was allegedly assaulted by Robinson, police said, but not injured.
