Environmental Club Plants Trees At Waukee Northwest High School

'We've done lots of trash pickups, but now that we are planting trees and branching out, I'm really proud of our club.'

It was an exciting afternoon for the Waukee High School Environmental Club. Students planted two trees on the front lawn of Waukee Northwest High School.

“When I come back in 50 years these trees will still be here and I’ll know that when I was 17, I planted them,” says Waukee High School Junior Cecilia Wright.

“We’ve done lots of trash pickups, but now that we are planting trees and branching out, I’m really proud of our club,” adds senior Brady Turpen.

The club planted two Kentucky Coffetrees.
