Jimmy John's to Open Next Week in Waukee

It’s freaky fast and freaky good and it’s coming to Waukee.

Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, located at 105 N. Warrior Lane, will open for business next week across from the in the former Medicap Pharmacy building.

The Warrior Lane franchise will be the 22^nd location in Iowa. Owner Ahmed Merchant said he’s excited to be opening a Jimmy John’s in Waukee.

“I think Waukee is a very promising, growing suburban town,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of clientele call us and ask, ‘When you going to be open in Waukee?’”

The Waukee Jimmy John’s will feature familiar menu items fans will recognize including sandwiches, wraps and sides. One thing you don’t see at every Jimmy John’s is a drive-through window. Waukee will have that, too.

“We’ve been scouting locations for the last two years,” Merchant said. “This space offered us a drive through. It’s close to our clientele and you don’t have to fight a lot of traffic.”

Merchant said once the shop is open, it will employ 25 full- and part-time positions.
