Making Way for Jogger Results in Car Accident: Waukee Police Reports

Vehicles driven by Shawn Brown of 4018 Seventh St., Des Moines, and Leah Zeller of 10161 Sutton Drive, Urbandale, were stopped at a stop sign in the 1200 block of Southeast University Avenue. Police said Brown backed her vehicle to allow a jogger to go past and struck Zeller's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $4,250.

Shanna Kempers of Waukee reported a case of identity theft.

A vehicle driven by Mark Vanbeek of 8580 Parkside Circle, West Des Moines, was northbound on Alice's Road and stopped at a stop light at Hickman Road. When the light turned green Vanbeek moved ahead and reportedly struck a vehicle driven by Robert Hardrader of 30999 R Ave., Adel. Damage was estimated at $8,000. Hardrader was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
