Monday Kicks Off Yard Waste Collection in Waukee

Residents who have collected brush and other yard waste over the winter can dispose of it starting Monday.

Waukee residents who have been raking leaves or picking up small tree limbs can starts disposing of the material on Monday when yard waste collection resumes.

According to the city website, pick-up is on Mondays from April through the end of November. Items must be set out the night before or by 7 a.m. the day of collection.

Yard waste materials must be put into biodegradable bags or reusable containers and set at the curb. It is not necessary to purchase expensive yard waste bags at stores in Des Moines, the city says. Generic yard bags will work fine.
