PHOTO GALLERY: Waukee Girls Win Cross Country Invitational
The Waukee girls' cross country teams took home first place Tuesday night at the home invitational, beating out six other teams.
The Waukee girls took home first place at their home meet, the Waukee Invitational, on Tuesday night. The Warriors scored 43 points, tying them for first place with Des Moines' Roosevelt High School. However, the Warriors broke the tie with a stronger finish from their sixth-place runner.
Waukee coach Heather Every said the entire team ran well on Tuesday night, taking home first in both varsity and junior varsity compeitition.
"The girls worked hard, and we're looking forward to the next meet at Fort Dodge," Every said.
