Rochon Corp. of Urbandale, which built South Middle School in Waukee, is the likely winner of a $24.89 million contract to construct the district’s new eighth- and ninth-grade school, the Des Moines Register reports.
Crews will likely start moving dirt at the Timberline School site by the middle of July, Superintendent Dave Wilkerson told the newspaper. The school will be built northeast of the intersection of Ashworth Road and L.A. Grant Parkway using money from the statewide sales tax for schools.
Bids were opened June 11 at the school district office, with the Waukee School Board set to award a contract at its June 24 meeting, according to the district website.

In addition to building the school, Rochon will grade five sites for recreational space south of Timberline, the Register said. It's possible the Vision Soccer Academy will work with the district to build a soccer complex there.
