‘Say Cheese’: Guinness World Record Cheese Carver in Waukee Sunday

Sarah Kaufmann, the Guinness world record-holder for creating the largest cheese sculpture ever, will be back at the Waukee Hy-Vee store Sunday, where she’s carving on a 500-pound block of Wisconsin cheddar.

She’s carving the Hy-Vee logo, local school mascots and other symbols into the cheddar wheel, the Des Moines Register reported.

In 2011, Kaufmann carved a block of cheese at the Urbandale Hy-Vee to commemorate the Iowa-Iowa State rivalry.

The cheese carving artist, who lives in Waukee, has also carved likenesses of Jay Leno, Matt Laurer, Katie Couric, Al Roker and Ann Curry from blocks of cheddar.
