In an effort to provide consistency to citizens and protect outdoor warning siren equipment during extremely cold weather, the three Public Safety Answering Points (Des Moines Police Department, Polk County Sheriff's Office and Westcom) made a joint decision NOT to conduct the regular test of the outdoor warning siren system on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.
