A vehicle drive by Alan Gavin of Polk City was stopped at a traffic signal at Ashworth Drive and Southeast University Avenue in Waukee when a vehicle driven by Matthew DeWitt of 550 Sixth St. in Waukee slid into Gavinβs vehicle while turning on the icy road. Damage was estimated at $6,000 total.
A vehicle driven by Stephanie Girard of 865 Fourth St. in Waukee was struck by a vehicle driven by Edita Husic of Urbandale, authorities said. Husic tried to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Southeast Laurel Street and Southeast Carefree Lane but slid on snowy roads into Girard. Damage was estimated at $3,100 total.

A vehicle driven by Brandon Lee of West Des Moines was southbound on Aliceβs Road, authorities said, when it slid on snowy roads and struck a vehicle driven by Billy Proctor of Johnston at the intersection of Aliceβs Road and Southeast Olson Drive. Damage was estimated at $4,500 total.
Slick road conditions caused a vehicle driven by Rachel Cross of 605 S.E. Jonas Circle in Waukee to go out of control when she was turning right from Southeast University Avenue onto Southeast Brick Drive. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000; damage to a flag pole struck by the car was $1,000.
Police charged Christopher Dean, 28, of 285 Bel Aire Drive in Waukee with public intoxication.
Feb. 3
A vehicle driven by Fletcher Tingle of 85 Aidan St. in Waukee was southbound in the 100 block of Southeast Ashworth Drive when a vehicle driven by Gordon Emmons of 15408 Hammontree Drive in Urbandale crossed the center line. Tingle braked, and his vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Heidi Gillespie of 20 Marshall Drive in Waukee. Damage was estimated at $7,500 total. Gillespie was cited for failure to stop in an assured and clear distance; Emmons was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway.
Laurie Sundo of 263 Southeast Booth Drive in Waukee reported a vehicle was vandalized.
Jeffery Sherman of 125 Gray Avenue in Waukee reported a vehicle wasΒ vandalized in the 200 block of Southeast Booth Drive.
Feb. 2
A vehicle driven by Jennifer Hummel of 745 S.E. Parker Drive Waukee was stopped at the intersection of Southeast Peachtree Drive and Hickman Road when it was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Mary McEntee of 1010 Collins Drive in Waukee. McEntee was cited for failure to obey a traffic device.
Feb. 1
Garrett Rowe of Clive reported a theft in the 200 block of North Warrior Lane.
Lee Nail, 69, of 1007 Collins Drive in Waukee, was arrested on a Waukee warrant for violation of a no-contact order.
Jan. 30
Casey McGlade of Omaha reported a theft from a vehicle in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue.
Jonathan French of Waukee reported a theft in the 1500 block of Southeast Bell Drive.
