Theft of iPod Reported, Driver Cited in Car Accident: Waukee Police Blotter

Feb. 8
Brenna Thompson of West Des Moines reported the theft of an iPod in the 600 block of Southeast University Avenue.

Feb. 12
A vehicle driven by Shari Ackerson of 135 S.E. Dogwood Lane, Waukee, was stopped at stop sign coming out of the Waukee High School parking lot when authorities said a southbound vehicle driven by Garrett Slaybaugh of 1100 Second St., Waukee, turned left into the parking lot and struck Ackerson's vehicle. Damage was estimated at $5,500.

Feb. 13
A vehicle driven by Lucas Fagen of Boone was southbound on Warrior Lane when a vehicle driven by Ann Hinchliff of 25 S.E. Windfield Pkwy., Waukee, was westbound on Southeast Laurel Street and struck Fagen's vehicle. Hinchliff was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Vehicle damage was estimated at $7,500.
Daniel Smith, 18, of 395 Fourth St., Waukee, was arrested in the 300 block of Fourth Street and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
