Valentine's Day Challenge: What's the Perfect Gift to Buy in Waukee?
Romance is great, but buying something your partner will love and use is the best way to celebrate Valentine's Day. Waukee Patch is offering up ideas from three local businesses to help shoppers in the hunt for a gift. You decide who's the best in town.
In the spirit of Valentineβs Day and thinking of others, Waukee Patch's first "Gift-Giving Challenge" kicks off today.
With a little help from readers, we selected three locally owned businesses that provide gift options for those who want to pamper the special someone in their life.
Here's a glimpse at the businesses vying for top honors:
Schade Creek has for the past two years bottled a semi-sweet wine appropriately named Soulmates. It was created for the weddings held at the picturesque winery, but it's a hit on Valentine's Day, too.
Each bottle's label has a love poem with the last line: "Hereβs to soul mates β¦ may you find yours in this lifetime!"
The wine is sold for $12 a bottle at the winery, which is open by appointment by calling (515) 987-6695. And it's on the shelves of the two Casey's stores in Waukee, located atΒ ο»ΏandΒ ο»Ώ.

If a bottle of wine or massage doesn't resonate with your guy, then a four-burner gas grill or 80-inch flat panel television might be just the thing to show you care.
The store, new to Waukee in late 2011, has a plethora of gas grills, TVs in every screen size from 22 to 80 inches, 56-piece tool sets and plenty of snowblowers on sale this week.
