Waukee Public Library Stormwater Project
The Waukee Public Library Stormwater Project will improve an existing stormwater detention area and provide water quality/quantity improvement. It will expand the existing library parking lot doubling the number of spaces and will beautify the area utilizing bio-retention and bio-swale installation. The installation of sanitary sewer at the site is now complete and storm sewer installation is well underway. The “Iowa – Past and Present – Living Fence” sculpture by John Brommel has been temporarily taken down and placed in storage to allow for construction of the new pond at the site. The statue will be reinstalled at its new place in front of the library at a later date. Crews expect to begin paving the library’s new driveway and rear circle drive in early July. Once this is complete, curbside pickup and drop-off will move to the rear entrance of the building and crews will remove the remainder of the existing parking lot to allow for reconstruction.
