Waukee Homecoming Royalty to be Crowned After Parade
Waukee homecoming activities are in full swing.

From the Waukee Community School District web site:
Thursday - Homecoming Parade
- Parade route will be that same as all Waukee parades (Staging at Vince Meyer parking lot and ending at Waukee Stadium).
- Homecoming parade will begin at 6:00 p.m.
- All parade participants must be at the Vince Meyer Learning Center by 5:30 p.m.
- Coronation follows the parade at around 7 p.m. at the stadium.
- Powderpuff football games follow coronation.
- The Waukee Homecoming BBQ will be held at the Waukee Football Stadium from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (immediately following the Homecoming Parade). The BBQ is sponsored by the Waukee Band Boosters and Waukee Athletic Boosters. Cost of the BBQ dinner is $5. Proceeds will assist in paying for the electronic sign in front of the Waukee High School. Food is sponsored by Hy-Vee and Backyard BBQ.
- Homecoming Pep Assembly for students will be Sept. 20 at 2:15 in the Field House. This is not a community event.
- Waukee vs. Johnston – Game starts at 7:30.
- Court and King and Queen introduced at game.
- Dance Saturday from 8-11 p.m. in the west gym at the high school. Admission $10 per student. Only WHS students in grades 10-12 may attend or bring guests. No one in grade 9 or lower will be admitted and no one older than 20 will be admitted as per past practice. All attendees must show an ID at the door. Dress is semi-formal.
