Waukee Library Holds Annual Potluck, Meeting
The library's annual meeting and potluck will be held Tuesday. Dinner will include a presentation by Caron Ode, the author of "Celebrate Iowa."

The Waukee Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Waukee Public Library will hold their annual meeting and potluck at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, according to the library website.
The event will be held at the library, 950 Warrior Lane.
Table service and beverages will be provided.

Dinner will be followed by an update from each organization and a presentation by Carson Ode of Des Moines, the author of Celebrate Iowa.
According to the author's website, in researching Celebrate IOWA, Ode attended as many festivals and events as he could over a two-year period, making it to 103 Iowa festivals or events. There is a range of sophistication covered, from world-class events to small towns celebrating their ethnic heritage.

The 400-plus page book covers activities including a Nationwide NASCAR race in Newton, the Drake Relays, Amana's Oktoberfest, multiple music festivals and the Iowa State Fair. Over 2,000 photos enhance the experience, the website says.
Copies will be available for purchase at the dinner, or they can be ordered through Ode's website.
