Waukee Snow Emergency Parking Ban Declared

The City of Waukee is declaring that a Snow Emergency Parking Ban will go into effect in Waukee on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 9 a.m. This parking ban will remain in effect through Thursday, Dec. 31 at 9 a.m.

The parking ban applies to all streets in Waukee. The removal of vehicles from the streets allows crews to work on efficiently and safely clearing streets of snow; it also allows emergency vehicles accessible passage through City streets. Per Waukee Municipal Code §502.17, vehicles in violation of the parking ban are subject to a $25 fine and/or towing. Learn more and/or subscribe to text alerts.

Winter Storm Warning

According to the National Weather Service, heavy, mixed precipitation is expected from Tuesday overnight into Wednesday with total snow accumulations of 4-8 inches expected. A wintry mix and ice accumulations of less than 1/10 of an inch following the snow are also possible. Travel could be very difficult. Call 5-1-1 or visit the 511 site for updated road conditions.
