Waukee Snow Emergency Parking Ban Declared

The City of Waukee is declaring that a Snow Emergency Parking Ban will go into effect in Waukee on Friday, Jan. 15 at 12 a.m. (midnight). This parking ban will remain in effect through Saturday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. (noon).

The parking ban applies to all streets in Waukee. The removal of vehicles from the streets allows crews to work on efficiently and safely clearing streets of snow; it also allows emergency vehicles accessible passage through City streets. Per Waukee Municipal Code §502.17, vehicles in violation of the parking ban are subject to a $25 fine and/or towing. Learn more and/or subscribe to text alerts.

Blizzard Warning
According to the National Weather Service, blizzard conditions are expected from midnight to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, with total snow accumulations of 3-5 inches expected as well as winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Travel could be very difficult with blowing snow causing reduced visibility. Call 5-1-1 or visit the 511 site for updated road conditions.
