When is the First Day of School in Waukee?

Summer is quickly winding down for kids -- and teachers -- in the Waukee Community School District, which will start school on Aug. 14.

With classes starting in less than a month, open houses at all buildings, from kindergarten through high school, is set for Aug. 12.

GRADES PREK-5 ELEMENTARY BUILDINGS

• Time:  5-7 p.m.
• Locations:
  • Brookview Elementary – 8000 E. P. True Parkway, West Des Moines
  • Eason Elementary – 605 SE Boone Drive, Waukee
  • Maple Grove Elementary – 1455 98th Street, West Des Moines
  • Shuler Elementary – 16400 Douglas Parkway, Clive
  • Walnut Hills Elementary – 4240 NW 156th Street, Urbandale
  • Waukee Elementary Elementary – 850 6th Street, Waukee
  • Woodland Hills Elementary – 1120 S 95th Street, West Des Moines
  • Vince Meyer Learning Center – 430 Ashworth Drive, Waukee

GRADES 6-8 – MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDINGS

• Time: 6-8 p.m.
• Locations:
  • South Middle School – 2350 LA Grant Parkway, Waukee
  • Waukee Middle School – 905 Warrior Lane, Waukee

GRADE 9 BUILDING

• Time: 5-7 p.m.
• Location: Prairieview – 655 Southeast University Avenue, Waukee

GRADES 10-12 – HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING

• Time: 6-8 p.m.
• Location: Waukee High School – 555 S.E. University Avenue, Waukee
• Parking Passes available at the High School (Grades 10-12)
  • Class of 2014 (only) – 2-4 p.m.
  • Class of 2014 & Class of 2015 – 5-7:30 p.m.
  • We do not anticipate parking spaces being made available to members of the Class of 2016. Parking may be available on a first-come/first-served basis near Waukee Stadium for these students. To view parking map click here.
