2013 State Wrestling Results: West Des Moines Valley Wrestler Scores 53-Second Pin

Four of the six West Des Moines Valley and four of the seven Dowling Catholic wrestlers who qualified are advancing to the quarterfinals after first-round action in the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournment Thursday.

The other five wrestlers head to the consolation bracket and can still finish as high as third place in their weight classes.

Here are Thursday’s results:

West Des Moines Valley

In the 106-pound division, West Des Moines Valley freshman Jack Koethe won a 17-2 technical fall over Iowa City West sophomore Jordan Crawford.

In the 113-pound division, West Des Moines Valley senior Clayton Eicher won a 9-1 major decision over Council Bluffs Lincoln senior Jordan Peterson.

In the 152-pound division, West Des Moines Valley senior Dylan Matter pinned at 0:53 Iowa City High senior Bryton Jones.

In the 182-pound division, Cedar Falls senior Nick Hagedorn won a 16-0 technical fall over West Des Moines Valley sophomore Zach Downs.

In the 220-pound division, sophomore Justin Green of Linn-Mar (Marion) won a 1-0 decision over sophomore Brady Smith of  West Des Moines Valley.

In the 106-pound division, Dowling sophomore Tanner Rohweder pinned at 3:25 Iowa City High sophomore Colton Chalupa.

In the 113-pound division, Dowling senior Jonah Eide won a 7-2 decision over Glenwood junior Cole Peckham.

In the 120-pound division, Dowling senior Jonathan Eide won a 11-2 major decision over Western Dubuque junior Austin Hosch.

In the 160-pound division, Dowling sophomore Isaiah Patton won a 7- 0 decision over Sioux City North senior Gage Martin.

In the 170-pound division, Pleasant Valley junior Brady Letney scored an 8-2 decision over Dowling senior Matt Collins.

In the 182-pound division, Waterloo West junior Kyler Matthews pinned at 3:30 Dowling senior Reed Flood,

In the 192-pound division, Southeast Polk freshman Ethan Andersen pinned at 2:59 Dowling sophomore Cole Wymore.
