A BIG West Des Moines Welcome to New Library Director

With Day 1 on the job over, Darryl Eschete starts to get settled in.

Darryl Eschete, who was hired in February, is officially on the job as director of  Public Library.

Eschete began his job yesterday, replacing former library director Ray Vignovich, who retired last month.

Eschete previously served as director of the Chippewa Falls Public Library in Wisconsin. The facility serves 41,576 people. It has an annual budget of $1 million and a staff of 15.

Eschete had served as the director of Chippewa Falls, WI, library since February 2010. He has also served as department supervisor of reference and genealogy for Terrebonne Parish Library in Houma, LA.

Eschete obtained his master of library and information science degree from the Louisiana State University School of Library and Information Science in Baton Rouge.
