It's hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner! During the holiday season, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa tries to give back to its Littles and their families through our “Adopt-A-Family” program. More than 50 families are picked each year with the chance of being “adopted” by a business, community organization or individual for the holidays.
Each family is chosen based on need and is asked to fill out a wish list. We then seek out donors to adopt these families. Would you like to adopt a family this year? Donors are asked to fill out our commitment form by Friday, November 8th so we can inform the families who have been adopted and those who unfortunately haven’t. As a donor, you can specify how big of a family you are able to adopt and we will match your needs as close as possible. Once we match all the families with the donors, you will be given a wish list and asked to deliver the gifts, unwrapped to our office in Clive, by Friday, December 13th at the very latest.
“The holidays are a time to be happy,” says Kit Curran, CEO of BBBSCI. “We want to do all we can for the families we serve to help them enjoy the holidays.”
