Heading south for the winter just got a little easier courtesy of Allegiant Airlines.

The company announced Tuesday it plans to add a third Florida destination for the Des Moines International Airport, according to the Des Moines Register. In addition to St. Petersburg and Sanford, which is just outside of Orlando, the airline will now fly to Punta Gorda.

Outgoing flights are expected to start just before Christmas, the Register reported.

Allegiant made its debut at the Des Moines airport in 2003, the article said. The airline also travels to Las Vegas and Los Angeles from Des Moines.
