The band is celebrating release week for their new album and hair‑metal‑styled title track video, then rolling through a string of North American dates, cruises, and festival appearances.
2. Left To Suffer Fire Back With New 'STFU' Single (themosh.net) — Metal fans in West Des Moines can catch Left To Suffer and a stacked heavy lineup when the tour hits Val Air Ballroom on September 28. The new single "STFU" previews their upcoming album "Unwelcome Guest," due out October 9, and this fall run brings them through major cities nationwide before landing in Iowa.
3. Ottumwa Soloist Wins 2026 Iowa State Fair Bill Riley Talent Search (dmcityview.com) — A young West Des Moines performer, 11-year-old Lucy Smid, earned recognition in the Iowa State Fair's Bill Riley Talent Search with her jazz dance solo in the sprout division. The competition awarded more than $22,000 in prizes statewide, with top honors going to Ottumwa's Caleb Meiners for his senior division contemporary solo.
4. Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences Faculty Member Publishes Research on Improving Food Allergy Treatment Decision-Making (rcreader.com) — A Des Moines University faculty member based in West Des Moines has published new research calling for better tools to match food allergy patients with the safest, most effective treatments. Drawing on both clinical experience and her son's severe allergies, she highlights the need for validated risk-stratification so providers can choose between avoidance, oral immunotherapy, biologics and other options more confidently.
