It’s time again for the West Des Moines Citizen of the Year Celebration!  This year’s recipient will be feted with a lakeside reception at City Hall on May 1 from 4-6 p.m., featuring  hors d’ oeuvres, beverages, and musical entertainment. 

There is no charge to attend and the event is open to the public. This event will also serve as the kick-off to “A-MAY-Zing Day’s”, a month-long series of events celebrating the City of West Des Moines.

The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes a West Des Moines resident or professional for exemplary service to the community by maintaining business, civic and moral stands, whose service has brought credit and honor to the City. 

Nominations for West Des Moines Citizen of the Year are open through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March15.  Those interested can access the nomination form at the WDM Chamber’s website at http://www.wdmchamber.org/event/special-events/nominate-citizen-of-the-year.html  or call the Chamber office at 225-6009 to have a nomination form mailed to you.

"Both the Citizen of the Year and the A-May-Zing Days Celebration were created to promote and recognize the people, businesses and civic organizations that make this community great,” said Sid Ramsey, Chair of the West Des Moines Chamber. “This celebration of the Citizen of the Year allows us to acknowledge and highlight the winner’s exemplary service throughout our month-long celebration.”
