Attention, West Des Moines Thespians: Playhouse Auditions for ‘Flat Stanley’ Musical
Stanley Lambchop, flattened by a bulletin board, travels the world hoping to become a 3D boy again.

Auditions for "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley," based on the book "Flat Stanley," by Jeff Brown, will be held at the Des Moines Community Playhouse at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, according to a news release.
Those auditioning should bring a prepared solo; an accompanist is provided. All auditions are open to the public; no one is pre-cast.
"The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley" contains feature roles for two men and two women, ages 16 and up, and 2 boys and 1 girl, ages 10-15.
Performances are May 4-20, with school matinees May 8-9. "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley is directed by Ron Ziegler, with music direction by Brenton Brown and choreography by Alison Shafer.
One night, a bulletin board comes loose and falls on top of Stanley Lambchop, leaving him really, really flat. Stanley takes off around the globe – stamped and mailed in an envelope – in search of a solution to his unusual problem. Will he find a way to be a 3D boy once again?
The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235 in Des Moines, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
