With August here, it is time to take a walk around your home and make sure exterior walls and gutters are cleaned up. August is typically the warmest month of the year. Spiders, bugs, mice and other insects are always seeking cooler areas. Remove the piles of tools or wood around your home. Remove anything whether it is toys or other debris from touching your siding.
Firewood is the most common hiding place for the burrowers. Most people stack wood under eaves of your home. The wood creates a home for several insects and rodents. If left long enough, dampness could rot siding or trim. Firewood should be stored at least 18” from the ground and two feet from your home and be sure to keep it covered.
